Hi
I hope I have missed something simple here.
GoldMine CE 7.6.0.16 (SQL)
I have created a second database, as an empty one (using the database wizard). When I open this database and bring up the calendar I can't see any of my activities. I can see them if I go back to database 1.

Back in database 2, I create a new activity, linked to a contact record. I can see this activity in both the contact record pending tab and in the activity list, but not in the calendar.

I switch back to database 1 and I can see the activity.

Back to database 2, complete the activity, and I can see it in the calendar!

Interestingly if I look at the calender year view (in database 2) I see days that have activities in bold, and in the Outline view I see pluses against the dates with activities - but no more Confused

I have tried this logged in as several different users and have checked the calendar options to ensure that I am ticked to see everything.

Very puzzled!

Thanks in advance for any help with this.

Diane

This is the intended functionality; only activities linked to the current contact set (or unlinked) will show in the calendar. Im not sure if there is any way around this.

Dear Ronanc
Thanks for you response here.
I have very good news - I have found the solution to be able to view all calendar activites, whichever database you are in Very Happy

When I had created the new SQL databse it had taken the server default language for the Collation (see properties of the database in the SQL Server Management Studio) and this didn't match the Collation language of my original database (created many years ago under SQL 2005 and since upgraded to SQL 2008).

As I couldn't modify this Collation language I simply created another new contact set in the SQL Server Management Studio , set the language to match my original database, then used the GoldMine Wizard to create the new database, selecting this new one with the Alias manager.

As easy as that Wink

Thanks
Diane

Hi Ronanc
No problem - it was rather obscure. It is just so hard to find any info about this. I read the download manual from Frontrange but this had no mention of collation.
Thanks again for looking into this.
