My SMTP server (Yahoo) requires an encrypted connection (SSL). Where can I select this setting in Goldmine? I couldn't find it.

Thank you.

Not in GoldMine. Check Dougs website. He has instructions on how to use STunnel.

You could use the Stunnel approach: http://www.castellcomputers.com/?p=2

or

try out an open source (free) utility I've had success with for my own yahoo account called YPOPS: http://ypopsemail.com/

Do you know if anyone is successfully using stunnel with GoldMine (6.70.70226) and sbcglobal.net? I hear that sbcglobal.net has changed to SSL and now GM e-mail doesn't work with it.

Trying to configure GM Standard 6.70.70226 with ATT/Yahoo e-mail. Tried the Stunnel configuration using

stunnel.conf file:
client=yes
[pop3]
accept=9995
connect=pop.att.yahoo.com:995
[smtp]
accept=465
connect=smtp.att.yahoo..com:465

GM settings:
pop server: 127.0.0.1
smtp server: 127.0.0.1
authentication: PASS
Advanced settings:
pop server: 995
smtp server: 465
server requires authentication is checked
and username/password are filled in

Trying to retrieve e-mail gives socket returned error, connection refused 10061.
I can send mail OK, just cannot retrieve.

Any ideas?

Finally got Stunnel working but after several days of working, received this from AT&T Yahoo! Customer Support. Anyone else have similar exprerience with Stunnel/AT&T?:

Dear AT&T Yahoo! Customer:

We noticed that you are accessing email using non-secure settings in your email software.

We would like to ensure that your AT&T Yahoo! Member ID, password, and email messages are transmitted securely between your mail software (such as Outlook or Outlook Express) and the AT&T Yahoo! Mail servers. In order to meet this need, please enable SSL via the instructions that are available on the Help site.

Since multiple email notifications have already been sent out about this, we request that you please make the necessary changes immediately. Remember, you need to make these changes if you want to continue to send/receive email using a mail client.

Thank you for your cooperation,

AT&T Yahoo! Customer Support

could you post your working stunnel.conf file for AT&T so we can see the ports you're using?
