Hello Everyone,

Background:
Prior to my hard disk crash, my Goldmine database was on my desktop. When it crashed, I had my Goldmine database installed on my laptop. Off the top of my head, this happened in March or April, 2012. After the transfer, I noticed that many of the historical e-mails were gone. Just like I used my Goldmine database on my destop prior to then, I have been using my Goldmine database on my laptop since then.

Versions = GoldMine 6.70.70226, BDE 500 [4/11/1999], Windows NT 6.01.7600

Question:
How can I merge the pre hard disk crash database with my current database so that all the historical e-mails I lost are back AND so all the new information I have entered in the database since the hard disk crash- and continuing through today- is retained?

I have a backup of my GM database prior to the crash (with all the historical e-mails).

I can think of several ways to do this. I would consider trying the following steps:
1. Backup your current database. By "backup" I mean to copy all data file such as \common and \gmbase to another location. Do not rely on GM's internal backup program.
2. Create a sync transfer set that contains all changes to your GM since the date of your previous backup.
3. Restore your previous backup to GM.
4. Retrieve your sync transfer set.
