My users don't seem to have the same performance issues I'm experiencing at my desk. I am the administrator with the highest level of security and I have access to all menu options. Could this have anything to do with my slow performance? Sometimes my Goldmine session locks up while I'm simply logging in.

We'll be upgrading in a couple months, but in the meantime I would love some suggestions for where I can look to find possible cause. Thank you!

what sub-windows do you have open in GoldMine upon startup? What version of GoldMine are you using? What antivirus do you use? Do other users experience slowness if they log in from your workstation? Are you fast on theirs?

Sorry, Doug. I just realized my signature only had my Goldbox info on it. Thanks for the quick response!

At startup, I typically only have the Main Contact and Search Center windows open.

I'm still running GM version 6.70.50123. We are running eTrust Antivirus from Computer Associates, Version 7.1.192. I just had another user login at my station and while there wasn't a noticeable difference once we got into Goldmine, it took about twice as long to load (in our estimation). I went to another station and logged in. I didn't experience the same slowness and it never seemed like it was going to lock up.

I appreciate any direction you can suggest. Troubleshooting these things can be so tough because it isn't following a consistent pattern it seems.

so what this tells me is that it's your machine, not anything GoldMine-related.

How long has your machine been this way? For instance, has it been that way since the day after you installed _____? How much memory is the machine using, typically? More than it physically has?

Thanks, Doug. I'm going to wait until we complete our upgrade and check again. I can fight through it for now. Appreciate the feedback as always...
