I added a Group Plugin to my import so that all the records that are imported are added to a group...it works exactly as it should, but not exactly as I would like it to.
See, if there is a match (e.g. if we bypass the record b/c it already exists in the DB) I don't want it to add the existing record to the group. The group exists to define who was imported in what import and if it adds already existing contacts to this group the group will include individuals who were in the original import file but who weren't actually imported...and I want to avoid this. Is there a way to make the group member plugin conditional on there not being a duplicate already in the database?
Thanks,
Dave. |

Two ways, your choice.
1. Use a second setup, as I've been suggesting all along. Filter it for your Write Back field being empty. Add your Group PlugIn to that setup only.
2. Create and populate a field with the Date (I'd use DToS); then follow up your import with a Group builder based on that field. Not ideal; gets sticky if you run more than one import per day, but still possible to do. |

Thanks Bob. I saw your multi-import strategy and figured that might be the way to go.
