Insufficient system resources - After upgrade?

When upgrading to SQL 200X clients start to run into resource issues. Anything can be done?

GM Version: 7.5


Symphtoms: Several users are receiving similar errors to the snapshot below with the ‘Insufficient system resources exist to complete the requested service’ error window. They typically lose network functionality, i.e. lost mapped network drives, inability to print to network printers, unable to run applications over the network, etc…

Try going into the properties on the SQL Server and limiting the memory allocation to an amount which your server can handle. By default this setting is quite high and will most likely grab all available resources if it feels it needs them.
