Under the FILED Folder in the Email Center, I have many of the Monthly folders (e.g. May 2005) that are duplicated - ie, I have two of them. Clicking the folder displays message headers in the right window pane and it appears the message listings are identical in each folder. Not all folders are duplicated but most are.
This computer syncs with another GM computer and the duplication exists there, too. What would cause this and how can I eliminate the duplicates? Any ideas? |

Per original message, have some duplccated folders in the e-mail center. Had two inbox subfolders named "review" and they appeared to contain the same (identical) messages. I tried deleting one of the folders which emptied the other folder as well, although the folder still appears (now empty).
I normally syncrhonize this computer with another one but have not syncrhronized or performed a maintenance rebuild since deleting the messsages. I would like to try and retreive the messages (and folder if necessary) to review some of the e-mail and move to different folders before deleting the duplicated folders for good.
How can I undelete the deleted folder (and e-mail) on this machine? |

This is a well documented issue when the folders are created on the remote, and on the server at separate times. Syncing will then create duplicate folders. You should make a habit of only creating these folders server-side, or remote-side. |

to solve it, you're going to need to make a transfer set of the main, SQL install, as needed, to get the remote updated and set it aside (DON'T INCLUDE email deletions!)
Backup the remote and then retrieve the transfer set. If it doesn't wipe out any mail, rehost it's mailbox table to overwrite the server's. Then you'll probably want to purge gmtlogs on both sides.
If it keeps bothering you, use SQL query analyzer and BR7, as appropriate, to delete the second folder items... |
