GoldMine 9.0.0.102

Am I wrong in thinking that you can have two databases on a remote and have the data sync to the corresponding database on the server?

I have a customer who has two databases on the server, and both are also on the remote with the corresponding file codes to the server databases. The sync site and OBS profile are both set to sync both databases, but when the user syncs the data from the second database on the remote gets synced to the main database (the one with the GMBase files) on the server.

FrontRange are suggesting that this is not a supported environment and that only one database can be set up on a remote, yet I could have sworn I have set up similar remotes in the past on 8 and 8.5. Am I losing my marbles...?

This has always been the case. I have one client who is synchronizing nine databases simultaneously. That's what File Codes are all about, and why you are required to have one for each database. A properly set up Sync Server against a properly configured Remote should sync just fine, and FrontRange has always supported this in the past.

I agree with DJ. I have several clients (and myself) who sync multiple databases.

Thats what I figured alright. Do you know of any issues in v9 that might be causing an issue with this? The sync sites and OBS profiles are set up correctly so far as I can see; certainly no different to the way that I would have set them up in previous versions.

Can't say that I've heard of any.
