I'm getting much better with GoldBox, but one of the areas that can still be a bit of a chore is when I need to browse the physical GoldBox directory. There are so many files!
It would be great if the files could be placed into some sub-directories, here is what comes to my mind:
- images (for all the BMP files and icons)
- notes (to contain all the notes for various setups)
- br7 (for the BR7 application)
- dbase_tables (for all the dbase tables created and utilized by dbase, rather than user created)
I know this is a fairly minor idea - but I do think it would make my life easier.

I'll point Dave to your post, but I suspect that for him to move the existing files as you are requesting may be more involved than you imagine. However, I certainly agree with you in a general sense. A couple of thoughts:
-Setup Notes (where available) are stored in the Setup record of the GXSetup file; can't see that changing. LifeRings do have their own folder, though.
-User-created .dbfs can be located anywhere you want them; so I'd just create my own directory, if I were you. Of course, you may need to go back and change the paths, if they are already used in Setups. |
