I was installing SQL Server 2008R2 on an old XP Pro, SP3 laptop in preparation for installing an undocked GMPE 9.02. During the early phase of installation, I got the following error:

| "The SQL Server registry keys from a prior installation cannot be modified. To continue, see SQL Server Setup documentation about how to fix registry keys." |
I will be researching then cleaning out the registry. There are not any other versions of SQL installed and no services running. Any suggestions as to what to look for would be appreciated.
