Hi, I'm in GM 6.7 Corporate;
I have a user with two email addresses (Identities) and he needs to be able to chose from either the default or the alternate when emailing out (depending on his role). I thought I had this set up for him before, but we made a change and now it is gone. Now, even though the optional email drops down in the email "from" window, his default email is what the recipient sees.

SO: How do I modify his account to accomplish this?

Thanks in advance,
Kevin

With that version of GM I beleive you would have to go into his email settings and change the default. With GoldMine Premium, you would be able to place the email in the queue then send it "from" any email of his choice.

Although it breaks the rules of GoldMine CRM, and is not recommended, here is a solution:

GM.ini
[GOLDMINE]
AllowDupEmails=1

I think DJ needs to read the question fully before answering.. Wink

Kevin, in that version, you have to go to the e-mail center and set the desired account as the current default before e-mail coming from the account will show the way you want it to.. Right-click->set as default, send your e-mail, go back, rinse-lather-repeat any time you need to send mail with the other address. Total pain. It's the way you envision in GoldMine 8 and 9, however.

Need to Revisit Multiple Email in 6.7

Gentlemen,
Thanks for the replies. I tried to explain to my boss that it doesn't work that way in GM 6.7. Then he showed me an example of prior to the change, where it did work.

In other words (or maybe the same ones), he emailed out and chose his non-default email account "Email B". The recipient saw his address as the non-default address "Email B" and when she replied, it came to "Email B."

Now, when he tries to do that same thing, it looks like it is coming from "Email B" but the recipient sees "Email A" and if they hit reply, it comes back to "Email A."

The only thing that I've changed (that I can tell) is that we now use Google Mail which requires Stunnel to handle the ports.

I've tried to look at an old user.ini file and compare it, but I don't see anything that jumps out at me (could be I don't know what I'm looking for either).

Any other thoughts? What about DJ's suggestion?

Thanks guys!
Kevin
