Hi
I am running GMCE 7.6.0.16 and Outlook 210 on a Windows 7 (32 bit) laptop.
The problem I have is when I try to install the Outlook integration, everyting is fine until I get to the screen where I have to change the path to where GoldMine is installed, I click on the field to naviagate to the network but I can only see this computer and not the network where GoldMine is.
The user has admin rights, and I am running the install as administrator (have also tried running as the user). From outside of the install wizard I can navigate to the network, and I am running the install from the network (I have also copied this locally and run from the desktop but no difference).
If I am logged onto the computer as administrator then I can run the install fine.
I have this problem with two computers. I have several other Windows 7 laptops that I have been able to run the installation on ok.
I keep thinking that the problem must be to do with permissions, but my IT people are pushing me towards it being a GoldMine problem.
Any help would be very much appreciated.
Thanks

Please tell us the full version of your Windows and Outlook. Are they "RTM" or "SP1"? I recommend that you upgrade to 7.6.0.17 which fixes several problems though I am not sure that it will fix yours. |

Hi Bob
Your response prompted me to check Windows for updates, I ran in the latest updates and now I can (and have successfully!) run the install.
I have noo idea why this worked but am very relieved that it has.
Thanks for look at this.
Regards

Congratulations on fixing it. I too have no idea as to exactly why that fixed it but there are quite often some basic steps we perform to solve various problems. These steps include installing some updates which may correct a corrupted or missing file, run repair on GM's program, and sometimes just rebooting the system.
Glad you got it working. |

Its a UAC issue; with UAC turned on the GoldMine installer is unable to see mapped drives. No idea why an update resolved the issue; normally the only solution is to disable UAC on the machine.
Also 7.6 isnt (as far as I know) compatible with Office 2010. Im not sure if it installs/starts up properly but you may have issues with it. |
