I just moved to Simi Valley CA and have Time Warner internet. I can send email through Outlook, through webmail (not roadrunners email account, but private and work emails).
When I use Goldmine, I can download emails but cannot send emails. I am able to send and receive from Goldmine at work on my laptop, so the problem has to be something to do with Goldmine and Time Warner. Their tech support was of no use. As soon as they discovered my issue was with a non-roadrunner email account they washed their hands of me.

I have stunnel installed on my home computer for my gmail account, but even this wont work. Do I need to change my stunnel settings to make everything work or is the issue with the SMTP settings? I am using Goldmnine 6.5xxx

Strangely, for my SMTP mail I use my Road Runner settings, instead of mail.<DomainName> when I am in the TimeWarner area of my office, but anywhere else I switch back to the standard SMTP as above.

I have gone to the top tier techs on both my ISP (I co-locate with my own server and mailserver) and TW and both point the finger at each other. WTF. What works is:
SMTP: smtp-server.ca.rr.com (in preferences, internet)

Pete - When an email does not send, do you get any error message? If so, what is it?

I would suspect that your SMTP settings are not correct. I would re-enter then just to make sure that you did not have a typo error when entering the password or other information.

Bob, while you are *technically* correct, the Reality is that, in our 818 area code of Northern LA, where Time Warner owns all, this is, after everything else is tried, the Bottom Line SMTP statement. Certainly, further technical explanations abound. But. When one needs to get an email out, Now!, one makes it happen. Whatever works now; fix it later. There is no logic to the "Time Warner" problem or its solution either, as far as I am concerned. Bored to tech hell, I just look at it as a rudder correction due to prevailing wind. Glad GM 6.7x still works

With all respect

Now using AT&T UVerse here in Simi Valley. I have a stunnel file set up for getting my gmail account (works fine). Yahoo Mail now requires SSL, do I need a serarate stunnel file set up or edit the current stunnel file to include yahoo as well as gmail.

Here are my present settings for gmail:

client=yes
[pop3]
accept=995
connect=pop.gmail.com:995
[smtp]
accept=465
connect=smtp.gmail.com:465
