I'm trying to install Goldmine version 6.7 onto Windows Server 2008 and I am receiving and error message saying that the setup doesn't recognise the operating system and that I have to install on Windows 98, ME, 2000 or XP.
We currently have this setup and running on Windows Server 2003 SP1 but we need to upgrade the server as it is end of life.
We cannot upgrade Goldmine as this is the only Frencg language version available to us.
I can see from Google that some people out there appear to be using gm 6.7 on higher Widows OS version thatn 2003.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

You could just copy the entire thing from one server to another. The only glitch will be getting the Borland Database Engine properly into your registry, and you only need that if you plan to run GoldMine at the console of that server.
You can get the BDE installer from the GoldBox website. |

I agree with Paul's excellent comments. Just copy the full Goldmine program to the new system and, if possible, keep it in the same path positions. Before you copy it, in the subfolder \goldmine\setup\BDEShare make sure that you have the full copy of BDE files that may be located in your Program Files path . This should enable the program to run (though all features may not work in your new environment. |
