When I send info to one of my suppliers I have to send the email to sales@ but also copying in two of their managers.
sales@ is the primary email address and the managers are additional contacts. To save time I thought I would set up a distribution group but I want the email to be linked to the account so that it shows in the history. When I change the to to distribution group the link box becomes untagged and the link changes to -X-GM-PUBDL- or something similar.
Does anyone know if it is possible to use a distribution list but to save the email to a chosen account or is there another (better) way to do this?
Thank you for any suggestions. |

After all these years Neil, you surely can't still be an Apprentice IT!
I' don't believe that which you are trying to achieve is possible within GoldMine. If you also have a Group associated with that Distribution List then you can do a One Process - Automated Process for that Group that would create a History Record. |

Hi DJ, I am not sure about being an apprentice but having bitten the bullet and moved from XP to Win 7 and GM 6.7 to 2013 it feels like I am having to learn everything again.
That is a shame about not being able to link the emails, I guess I will just have to carry on doing it manually. |

Or just stop using Distribution Lists and instead utilize Filters/Groups. |

Here is another way:
Set up a new email address that is actually two addresses with a comma between like this:
sue@abc.com, joe@abc.com
(There is a 75 character limit)
When you send an email to this address, Goldmine will fill in both TO: fields.
If you can beat the character limit, you can add a 3rd address the same way. |

I will try the multiple email address as all 3 emails total about 60 characters |

That is very clever. It would be ideal if using a different character rather than a comma triggered a "cc" rather than a "to" |
