I'm new at Goldmine and SQL Server.

I'm trying to install GMPE 2014 onto SQL Server 2012, but I keep receiving either the SQLState = 08001, NativeError = 17 or SQLState = 42000, NativeError = 18456 error message. I've configured everything I've been able to find on this site that other people have said prevented them from connecting to their server, but I still can't connect. Help Please!

when installing SQL, did you add your own username as an sql server admin? If not, you can do this in the SQL Management studio.

I'm using an administrator account set up in the SQL Management studio that was set up by my predecessor. I'm not familiar enough with this product to know what properties an account needs to act as an administrator for Goldmine purposes. For example, in the administrator account properties, there are General, Server Roles, User Mapping, Securables, and Status pages, and I can't find any documentation that explains which settings I need to configure for this.

Is this on one system or the server? In other words are you trying to connect a workstation GoldMine install to the server SQL Server? Alternatively, are you trying to install GoldMine on the same system that contain SQL Server?

Go to the system with SQL Server and look at the Processes. You should see every SQL Process Running except for SQL Server Browser which is Disabled.

Everything is all on one Windows 2012 Server. I am trying to install GMPE on the same 2012 Server as the SQL Server.

I see the SQL Browser Service EXE (32 bit) process at 0% in the processes, and the SQLBrowser Service running in the Services.

One of us would have to connect with your system to help you further.
