Hi,

I need some advise.

I have currently goldmine 9.2 installed on my windows server 2008. Due to certain issues with the server I may need to shut it down. Instead of fixing it or reinstalling the the OS and all the software. I may just use my laptop.

Can I install Goldmine on my laptop and somehow move the data over to my laptop. I will be the only user using goldmine ?

If this is not possible, Is there any small CRM programs that are good that will work.

All I need is contacts and email and calendar for scheduling. I do not need opportunities or sales. Just the basics where I can keep track of the email and contacts.

Thanks

Robert

Doug,

If I have a link on my laptop that used to point to my server can I repoint it to my laptop or I need to reinstall??

Also how would I move my data from my server to my laptop?

Do I need full sql installed on my laptop or is it a simple install???

you could undock a license from the server and create a one-button setup (based on a 1-1-1980 sync cutoff date.)
Then, yes, you'd uninstall any workstation install on the laptop, install SQL Express and install the undocked user installation on there following the well trodden One-button-sync setup method.
