Trolling through the forums looking for some info and I noticed the following:
"The forum content will remain available for search and reference until March 2009. Please copy any vital or frequently used content to the new discussions groups and/or locally for your continued use. "
Has someone already copied to a new forum for searching, or will all of this good info go down the tubes?

it might all go down the tubes.. As someone who contributed to the data there since the late 90's, I can't say I'm too pleased to hear it either.. |

Is it really that bad? Don't most people just drove through the current thread's anyway? Most of that stuff is so outdated that it doesn't even apply to today's versions of GoldMine. |

I can personally say that as someone who works the GoldMine support desk 90% of the time, I search that forum at least once a day for something and usually find the answer to what I am looking for. I will seriously not be impressed if they close it without transferring the information somewhere else... |

I agree with Ronan. What really bothers me is the perceived change in FrontRange's attitude towards supporting their customer base. |

Perceived Change?????
You mean as opposed to when they dumped on the GoldMine Standard Edition users? |

That is NOT what I mean. Years ago, the general feeling was that GM's support (Tech Support) was terrible. Then in the latter part of 2006, when David Kalland (and later others) took over Tech Support, the quality of support greatly improved (and is still much better). Then, against the wishes of a majority of participants, someone made the decision to close down the forums; hence the perceiption that FRS is more concerned about other things than supporting their client base.
This is not just my opinion but that of a majority of the old Forum participants. |

Personally, I feel this is a little harsh.

A vocal group of the few does not constitute a majority of the forum participants. I understand that some of the participants do not like the new forum, but that in no way should be perceived as FrontRange not being concerned about supporting their client base. They are supporting their client base in a more stable, albeit more clunky, forum environment. |

DJ, on a poll that was open to all on the FrontRange GoldMine Forum (before it went read-only), there were (last time I looked) 20 votes, 18 of which were negative regarding FR Connect. One was on the fence, and one was favorable. That's a 90% negative vote; I don't know what more you can ask in terms of gauging the opinion of the majority.
I think that FR's unrelenting action does reflect a disregard on the part of FR for the opinion of the people. |

As I was the one that started that poll I have just been back and checked. There were 30 votes of which 90% were against (27 votes) of the others 2 were for and 1 didnt know. |

Thanks, Pam. That's a remarkably consistent result over time. Certainly seems representative to me. |

I give it 3 months and then this forum will be the defacto forum for all things Premium Edition. It's just easier to use. I mean, look - I'm here.... |

as such.. Anyone have any requests for forum features? I recently tweaked the graphic for the LOGIN button so it would be obvious when you were not logged in and needed to.. The blinking red button ought to catch the eye, no? |
