I have successfully set up an AP that works as follows:
During the day, users make an entry in a field that indicates which marketing package we want to be sent to them (both electronically and snail mail components).
In the evening an AP runs that looks for the contents of that field... and then sends the corresponding email and creates a to-do for an assistant to do the snail mail task, and schedules a follow up call a week later.
The problem we are running into is: the AP runs at night via a scheduling program that logs into GoldMine with an admin login name.
Everything works, but the email shows a "from" of the admin login, not the user who tagged the record in the first place. Similarly, the followup call is also scheduled to the admin login name.
I do not see an option to use the email and username of the person who tagged the record.
Suspect I may be better off just having the day time users attach the desired process, rather than finding a work around to determine the name of the user who tagged the record.
Does any one know of a way to identify the name of the user who last accessed a specific field - and then use this name in an AP? Or is the best practice for APs just to have the user attach the track by themselves.
Thanks for any suggestions. |

For the e-mail, you would be best served using OmniRush.
For scheduling purposes, put the UserID in a field, and use that field for Scheduling. |
