My GM version 6.5 crashed. I was finally able to rebuild the e-mail database to where I was able to open Goldmine again. However the e-mails have dissapeared and the ones that remained are linked randomly to different conacts. Any help greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Joshua |

Need some more information.
What is your full version of GM (all the numbers): Help > About?
What operating systems are involved on your server and workstation.?
What is the size of Mailbox.dbf, mailbox.dbt, and mailbox.mdx? These should be located in \goldmine\gmbase. |

Your mailbox.dbt has exceeded its 2 GB limit. Hopefully you have a recent backup of that file because if your current file is corrupted, you will need to restore.
I recommend backing up your current mailbox files, then try to delete selected emails. I have done this many times. The tools I prefer are GoldBox or the the free BR7 utility. If you are not familiar with the use of these tools, you should get help because, if improperly used, you will loose your emails. |

In addition to what Bob G has said, if you use GoldBox you will have the option of Archiving Email. That allows you to dramatically reduce the size of the mailbox, but to also export and interactively display the E-mail you have deleted. |

in addition to the other valuable comments, if you didn't backup your mailbox files prior to the rebuild that scrambled them, you're probably out of luck.
Note, also, by the way, that you're using the initial public release of GoldMine 6.0. There were many patches released for it over the next 5 years.. You really should (have) updated it at some point along the way. |

Yes, at least talk to your GoldMine Partner and upgrade to the last build of 6.00. |
