GM will crerate the org chart though GoldBox is usually better.

In the Goldmine's Users Manual, go to the chapter "Crating Organization Charts" which, I believe in on page 82.

By the way, they should be on GM 7.6 which is a major (AND LAST) upgrade for GMCE.

I would prefer to do it with Goldbox, but according to our tech GB 7 doesn't support that?

Also can you link me to the guide you are referring?

Thanks

If you go to this site, you will be able to download the manuals. If you send me an email, I can return on it and attach the manual.

bgannett, thanks I do see the Guide however it doesn't give me an option to run it for a group of contacts.

Any idea if we can do that with Goldbox 7 ? If yes, how is that possible? We know how to do it with Goldbox 5, but cant find how to do it with Goldbox 7?

Thanks alot.

In my GoldBox-7 Version 2011A when I click on "Help" then "Help System" I could then enter Org or OrgChart and it then provides instructions on how to build multiple org charts.

If you need help with this I recommend contacting Bob Taylor.

For GoldBox 7 (or 9), the former utility OrgChart Creator was removed and replaced by the Vitrual OrgChart.(VOC). In many ways, that's good; but not here.

The VOC is based on a View, and it's not possible to use a filter (like the InGroup() function) for record selection for the charts. So, you'd have to find a way to integrate a query that will select your Group records with the query that already has to be constructed to drive the View. Frankly, I don't know if that can be done or not, and can't invest the time to determine that for free.

Another approach, one that will be familiar to you, Bob G, is to find or make a field that can be used as a tag field to indicate Group membership. That could be integrated with the View's query easily, and updating that field could be managed by GX automation.

If you want to find all contacts who are in any of three groups...

Code:
select accountno from contact1 where accountno in (select accountno from contgrps where userid in (select recid from contgrps where accountno like '*M_ %' and ref in ('Students 2011','Top Ten List','Purchased Leads 2012')))

That could be incorporated into your query in the Virtual Org Chart.
