Good morning.
GM 6.70.70226 on XP Pro.

Goldmine has crashed twice today and the error message is:

An error has occurred accessing the database files....

BDE Error Cat Code 39.3
BDE 500 [4/11/1999]...
Filename ....\gmbase\v:\apps.mdx

After the 1st crash I copied the Goldmine folder and then did a pack and rebuild but an hour later GM crashed again.

Does any one have any suggestions as to what to check next or what maintenance I can do to stop this happening.

Thank you in advance for any suggestions.

Neil

It could be just me, but there is no apps.mdx in GoldMine 6.70.70226. In fact, that whole name looks bogus:

...\GMBase\V:\Apps.mdx

Hi DJ, sorry I used a screen capture to record the error message and just copied the last few characters.

The Filename given in the Database Error message was
v:\apps\goldmine\gmbase\v:apps\goldmine\gmbase\v:\apps.MDX

It looks like an amalgamation of several filenames. Does that help or is it not much use?

check your gm.ini and username.ini files for GOLDDIR= settings. Sounds like it's messed up.

The GM INI is GoldDir=v:\apps\goldmine\gmbase\

There is no entry for GoldDir in any of the user INI files.
