Good Morning !

What is the easiest way to get my contacts properly moved over from Goldmine 9.02 to outlook 2007 or outlook2010,

I would like to move my contacts and all my email.

Is this possible and what is the easiest less painful way.

use the sync with outlook tool within GoldMine for the contacts and my Compliance for GoldMine tool for the e-mail.

Actually, in the 9.02 version, I'm not so sure that I would trust the Outlook Sync Tool within GoldMine. It wasn't as reliable as it is today.

for a 1-time/1-way sync, I'd say it'll do fine.

so maybe my best bet is to downgrade back to 2007 and sync and then upgrade back to 2010 and this way my data will be in outlook. Any known issues with 2007 ?

would this work ?

I have installed outlook 2007 with goldmine

I have set my email account to IMAP on both goldmine and in outlook.

If I sent email from outlook is there a way to have those emails filed in goldmine under the specific account. I though I set it that way under goldmine in the outlook integration.

But when I go into outlook and say connect to goldmine it connects and then disconnects. I also tried clicking on setup goldmine plus and it tell me that I need to goldmine integration.

How do I make outlook work together with goldmine.

What is the limitations and what can I do ?

Here is what I want to accomplish;

I have my travel laptop.. when I setup goldmine on this laptop I set it up that it hooked up directly to the server because I was using it mostly in the office.

I now need to take it on the road, so I decided to use outlook with imap so that I could send and receive emails and I would have a history of it because it was imap. I thought I could use Outlook when on the road and when I come back I could sync it to goldmine. and everything would be in goldmine. not so simple.

so my other alternative would be to re setup goldmine to be an independant work station and sync it back to the server when i get back from my trips.

How hard is it to reverse the original setup that goes to the server and set it up as a workstation ?

Thanks in advance and sorry for the long winded message.

maybe a specific question would help?

When you attempt to sync your GoldMine 9 with Outlook 2007, what happens?

I reiterate my statement from March:

Actually, in the 9.02 version, I'm not so sure that I would trust the Outlook Sync Tool within GoldMine. It wasn't as reliable as it is today.

Thanks for the reply.

My first issue is that I launch goldmine and then i launch outlook 2007

In outlook I click on Launch Goldmine and I get and error stating "you must setup goldmine plus for micorsoft outlook and have rights to use it.

so then I click on setup Goldmine Plus and I get the following error " you must enable goldmine integration."

All I would like to attempt to accomplish is that if I send an email from outlook I would like to have it save in goldmine under the rigth contact.

I understand you stated it does not work properly, but I would like to try it.

My other alternative if possible is to setup goldmine as workstation on my local machine and sync the information to my laptop and work offline and when i hoook up again I can sync all the info back to the server.

If this possible ???

I currently have Goldmine on my laptop but it points directly to the server. How easy is it to make it local and sync ? Do I need ti uninstall and reinstall ?

Thanks

Robert

you need to fix your outlook link, first.

To accomplish that, I'd suggest resetting it by finding and deleting the \Microsoft Corporation\ folder, typically located in the C:\Users\your windows username\AppData\Local\ folder.
