I am about to upgrade to latest version.

Can anyone tell me if I need to "step up" to the latest version & if so (I'm guessing I do) what the steps are?

Also if anyone has any other pointers that would be great!

Thanks!

Sally:

You should be ok to upgrade from v9.02. The Installation Guide states on page 47 that a minimum of v9.0.0 must be in place before upgrading to the current release. There is a new license file requirement for any version after v2014.2. You must acquire these new license codes from Goldmine (AVANTI).

Here's the README license warning:

Licenses
iGoldMine 2015.1 and up
Any versions of iGoldMine from iGoldMine 2015.1 will require a new license. This should be requested in advance of
doing an upgrade as it can take up to 24 hours (1 business day) to receive a new license. To get your new license,
please go to the website http://www.graphon.com/customersupport
and submit your request.
GoldMine Premium Edition 2014.2 and up
If upgrading from a version older than GoldMine Premium Edition 2014.2, you will need a new license. If you do not
have a 2014.2 or newer license, please contact our Customer Care Team at customer.care@heatsoftware.com before
installing or attempting an upgrade. Requests for Upgrade Licenses will be processed within one business day

It's always good practice to do/read the following:

- Perform a full system backup
- Compatibility Matrix
- README file
- Release Notes
- Server & Workstation System Requirements (Installation Guide)
- Server & Workstation Checklists (Installation Guide)

I've performed this upgrade from v9.02 recently and as long as you have all of the pre-requisites in place it was uneventful.

I'm sure others on here will have additional advice worth considering.

Thanks

did you just upgrade thru Net Update?

I'm finally trying to update this and it doesn't' seem to be connecting to the GM Server.

No. I haven't used NetUpdate for a long long time. Go to the Goldmine Support site:

https://support.heatsoftware.com/Account/Login?NoDefaultProvider=True

If you do not have a Login ID then call customer support and establish one.

The Goldmine updates are listed in a box to the righthand side of the screen. Click on the "+" sign to list all the available updates and select the one that applies to your situation.

Most if not all of the downloads contain the following:

Readme file
Release Notes
Compatibility List
Install Guide
Administration Guide
Install executables
