Hi Mark:

My info : V 6.70.50123 / stand alone user / novice GM user.

This is my first post after the GM 6.7 RE training.

I want to create some customized template with inserted fields for campaign purpose. Following your training manual p55-56 to save an edited template gives me a Word popup "unable to save as linked document". It was saved however under goldmine/goldmine/attach, and I could not see it under the user template folder but the user History tab shows the newly created user template. This is a little starnge, care to comment my usage?

How can I use linked GM in Word to Insert field? The training manual did not explain this and I could not figure out how to get this to work. I remember your example in the training showed certain field names get inserted in a modified template. Please advise.
For example, I need to put in a letter head in all my outgoing letters.

Wendy

p.s. Do you think that I can get more usage info from your GM handbook?

Wendy,

The instructions on pages 55-56 do not have any mention of saving a template.

The instructions for creating and saving a template were in the supplemental document sent during class (which is an excerpt from The Official Handbook for GoldMine for Real Estate", pages 157-167.)

Yes, the The Official Handbook for GoldMine for Real Estate provides details and step-by-step instcutions.

Wendy,

Maybe you've solved your problem by now or maybe not?

Go into MS Word under Option on the General Tab and uncheck "Update Automatic Links at Open"

It's been a while but I'm sure that's what I did when I had the problem
