Successfully edited a field in my word merge doc to pull the createby field from the ContHist database and works fine when merging for one client, however when I merge a SQL group I receive an error message

Table does not exist.
Invalid field name.

Context: create
c:\docume~1\stacey\locals~1\temp\GM685.DBF

1: File: c:\docume~1\stacey\locals~1\temp\GM685.DBF

BDE Error Cat:Code: [39:54]
BDE: 500 [4/11/1999] GoldMine: 6.70.41114

Any help would be greatly appreciated Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad

I'm impressed you got it to do it for a single merge. It's not going to happen for the multiple merge though.

You COULD, however, put together an SQL query that returns the proper information, export that as a .DBF and then use that DBF as the merge data source in Word -- side-stepping the entire GoldMine link add-in...

Keep in mind, however, that the createby in conthist is related to the contact in a 1-to-many manner. This means that any given contact could have hundreds (if not thousands!) of conthist entries. The question becomes, which createby value to do want?
