I'm using a (very) dated version - GoldMine 6.7 for Windows 98/2000/XP (6.70.50123). We are a small shop and both workstations are getting the same Database eror / Read failure pop-up notice.
Any suggestions on how to repair? We are losing the incoming emails from history, but seem to be able to send out.
Help & Thanks.
Joe

Get out of GoldMine, backup all GoldMine-related stuff via windows file copy/ZIP and then do full database maintenance.
Post any errors encountered during the process. If none, review/assess mail functionality for success. |

You should be on 6.70.70226.
It may already be to late for you. I see this most often when a dBase table has exceed the 2 GB limitation of dBase tables. Look at Mailbox.dbt & ContHist.dbt or .dbf. If either of those 3 tables or any of your other tables for that matter has exceeded 2 GB, and depending on how long you have been using it that way, you may be SOL. Worse comes to worse, you will have to start with empty ContHist and Mailbox tables or pay big bucks to have some of that data recovered if it is at all recoverable. |
