I'm querying the CONTSUPP table in MS Access. I am looking at RecType = O so I can see org trees...but I notice something strange in the DEAR field on quite a few records. I see the text OCDELETE3 or OCDEL2 in some of those DEAR fields. These accounts are not deleted in Goldmine...is this a deletion flag of some kind? |

I don't really understand the use of the word "delete", but the Dear field entry is almost certainly from GoldBox. When GoldBox builds an OrgChart, it puts the Launch ID of the setup that created that OrgChart in the Dear field of each record. OCDELETE3 indicates an old-style (pre-View built chart) setup; and the name seems to indicate that the chart was designed to gather together records that are eligible for deletion from the database. I'd never do something like that, but that's my guess about what it means. |

I'm laughing at myself right now...because I think that was a Goldbox launch ID I created. I named it that to tell me I needed to delete that launch ID later...the memory just isn't what it used to be. Thanks for jarring it for me, Bob! |
