Update to 8.30 blows out sync sites

Just did an update from 8.02 to 8.03 and it blew out the sync sites. What gives?

never seen that happen and I've done that update for a number of sites with sync sites...

Me neither, but it did it. Now however I'm having another issue with it. I went back and restored the original GM, files and SQL db and when I try to run the update again it only gives me Modify, Repair or Remove options. Never had one do that either. I cannot figure out where it's stashing whatever it is that's keeping from just doing an update.

try the microsoft MSI cleanup utility to remove it's memory of whether GM is installed or not and you can run the GM setup again.

Better yet, though, try a REPAIR installation.

Neither of those worked. What I ended up doing was a Remove, restoring the original 802 from backup, manually adding the gmw.exe back into the registry under App Paths and then running the update again. Worked this time.
