FrontRange believed we had some corruption in our CONTSUPP tables, so a proposed solution was to drop the indexes and do a Goldmine maintenance routine. Like this:
"The indexes can be dropped in SQL management studio very simply, just right click and delete. The name of the table is CONTSUPP. You will want a full database backup again, and yes all users should be out when this and the maintenance is ran.
After that is done…in Goldmine:
Go to file >> maintain databases >> select all database files >> select files in GoldMine Directory & Current Contact Set Files >> on the rebuild, sort and verify database files screen do not check anything >> finish. This will re-index the database.
Go to file >> maintain databases >> select all database files >> select files in GoldMine Directory & Current Contact Set Files >> on the rebuild, sort and verify database files screen select all options >> finish. This will re-build the database."
The problem is we have deleted the indexes as instructed, but now we can't get into Goldmine to do the maintenance steps. We get an error message 'Unable to Open Table'. FrontRange provides little to no SQL support...any direction you guys can give me? We are using SQL 2005. |

Do this in SQL:
Code: |
CREATE UNIQUE NONCLUSTERED INDEX [CNSRECID] ON [dbo].[CONTSUPP]
(
[recid] ASC
)WITH (PAD_INDEX = OFF, STATISTICS_NORECOMPUTE = OFF, SORT_IN_TEMPDB = OFF, IGNORE_DUP_KEY = OFF, DROP_EXISTING = OFF, ONLINE = OFF, ALLOW_ROW_LOCKS = ON, ALLOW_PAGE_LOCKS = ON) ON [PRIMARY]
CREATE NONCLUSTERED INDEX [CONTSPFD] ON [dbo].[CONTSUPP]
(
[RECTYPE] ASC,
[U_CONTACT] ASC,
[U_CONTSUPREF] ASC
)WITH (PAD_INDEX = OFF, STATISTICS_NORECOMPUTE = OFF, SORT_IN_TEMPDB = OFF, IGNORE_DUP_KEY = OFF, DROP_EXISTING = OFF, ONLINE = OFF, ALLOW_ROW_LOCKS = ON, ALLOW_PAGE_LOCKS = ON) ON [PRIMARY]
CREATE NONCLUSTERED INDEX [CONTSUPP] ON [dbo].[CONTSUPP]
(
[ACCOUNTNO] ASC,
[RECTYPE] ASC,
[U_CONTACT] ASC,
[recid] ASC
)WITH (PAD_INDEX = OFF, STATISTICS_NORECOMPUTE = OFF, SORT_IN_TEMPDB = OFF, IGNORE_DUP_KEY = OFF, DROP_EXISTING = OFF, ONLINE = OFF, ALLOW_ROW_LOCKS = ON, ALLOW_PAGE_LOCKS = ON) ON [PRIMARY]
CREATE NONCLUSTERED INDEX [cntsupaddr] ON [dbo].[CONTSUPP]
(
[RECTYPE] ASC,
[U_ADDRESS1] ASC
)WITH (PAD_INDEX = OFF, STATISTICS_NORECOMPUTE = OFF, SORT_IN_TEMPDB = OFF, IGNORE_DUP_KEY = OFF, DROP_EXISTING = OFF, ONLINE = OFF, ALLOW_ROW_LOCKS = ON, ALLOW_PAGE_LOCKS = ON) ON [PRIMARY] |

As an alternative to Dougs script, you should be able to type the login details of a master user on the login screen, and hold CTRL when clicking OK, which will bring up the Open Database dialog box. Select your main database and click Maintain. This will allow you to reindex the table without having to log into GoldMine. |

If you can get that far, Ronan's suggestion is the easy way to go. |

Geez! I always forget about the CTRL button option. This allowed me to get in, run the maintenance, and now users are back in. THANK YOU. |
