ContactReview :: View topic - Incoming email attachments stripped of extension

I've been noticing that (.pdf) email attachments from contacts with @yahoo.com addresses have not been coming through correctly -- has anyone else had this problem? I have to manually add the .pdf, and the file opens without issue.

Our pop service is via fusemail and they said the problem is not on their end. All I can think of is that the virus scanner with yahoo mail is stripping the extension out or something... anybody have any ideas/thoughts?

I think you might be on the right line with virus/spam blocker. Turn off anything that the email passes thru en route to your system and see if that resolves the issue. If it does, turn them all back on one by one until you find the culprit.

pdf's & yahoo are striking a chord in my pee wee brain. Why do I think that this is a known issue?

Also, take a look in your GM.ini to see if you are blocking PDFs.

Thanks for your responses. We receive pdfs from other contacts just fine... it appears to only affect those from yahoo.com addresses. We currently don't have any filtering except at the email provider (fusemail).

Is it possible that Yahoo.com is stripping off those extensions?

I have been paying attention to this since this was posted and it is the emails with @yahoo.com that has it's extension removed, but it is only when they come into GoldMine. When I go to the server, they are still there.
