We started having issues with our Goldbox a week ago.
We have Goldbox9 Basic, running on W7 64bit.
No major updates that we know of, just minor windows updates and software updated(just regular maintenance).
The error we are getting is:
Program Alert:
Error: Error loading DLL: i\goldmine\GM7S32.DLL
Screenshot: http://screencast.com/t/oKIriC3Z
If we ignore the error it will open Goldbox, but when we run the automation the error pops up again, I can see it querying the database, but it still gives an error.
We confirmed that:
- I:\ drive exists
- User has access to I:\goldbox9 and I:\goldmine\
- User has "all" permission to GM7S32.dll
- The path(in system variables is added "I:\Goldbox9\;I:\Goldmine\;etc..."
- MSXML 4.0 is installed
- Goldbox settings are correct: http://screencast.com/t/qGp0xePVnV3j
- BDE config is correct
We tried:
- Copying GM7s32.dll,GM7ts32.dll to goldbox9 and system32 folder
- Restarting PC
- Running program as Admin
It's probably something simple, any ideas of what could have happened? and how to fix it?
Thanks |

correct that and you'll probably be able to load the GoldMine API on that machine then. |

I just confirmed that the client is installed.
Any other ideas? |

I believe this issue is nearly invariably related to the GoldMine directory not being in the system %PATH%. I know you said that it's indeed in the path, but I'm just saying... that's where I'd look.
Note that drive mappings are not always available to the elevated (run as admin) session. A feature of the Windows 7 UAC hides mapped drive letters from elevated sessions. That means that the drive mappings could be visible to Windows Explorer, but may not visible within the GoldBox session, or the permissions may be different. |

I'd remove the I:\ stuff from the environment path. Windows vista/7/8/2008/2012 don't like loading API stuff from network locations..
be sure your goldmine executable is local and clean up the path variable would be my first steps. |
