Hi there,
Wondering if anyone has any advice on an issue that I came across a few days ago. I have a qfile that runs nightly, and out of the blue I got the following errors multiple times, and needed to kill the process:
I reran the qfile right after killing it, and it ran without issue.
Thanks,
Mike |

The usual thing to do, when trying to trouble-shoot an Import, is to post the LifeRing file. GoldBox seems to be looking for a GX_LongExpression, and not finding it. But without the LifeRing, there's too much guesswork involved. |

This APPEARS to be very straightforward. You are calling 4 GX_LongExpression() functions in the expression for your Notes field. GoldBox is saying that 2 of them don't exist. So, do they?
If it appears that they exist, my next guess would be that the functions exist, but are defective in some way. If neither of these appears to be true, then I couldn't tell what's wrong without paying your system a visit (and no guarantee of that, since I have no idea what the long expression functions involve...)
Failing all that, you may want to give Dave Petonic a call. His GoldBox eyes are definitely sharper than mine. |

Hi Bob,
Thanks for the reply. It actually complained about all 4 long expressions. And yes, all 4 do exist. When I re-ran the qfile, it ran fine. It is like it just forgot about them.
Thanks,
Mike

You seem to know what you're doing; I can't think of anything else I can say at this point, except to try Dave Petonic directly. When it comes to trouble-shooting, he will often spend a lot more time on it than I can, because it's his product. Also, he's pretty good at it, given that he wrote the program. If you figure it out, I'd appreciate it if you'd share with all of us. |
