does goldmine copy files to the system32 folder?
I read soemwhere that GoldMine needs the following files in the system32 folder
GmXml.dll
gmssl32.dll
gmquery.mssql.xml
gmquery.firebird.xml
GM7tp32.dll
Gm7s32.dll
DataDict.xml
DataDict6.7.xml
I found that I didn't have them in there so I copied them there. Now GoldMine seems to open a lot faster.
By the way I also tried to register the gm7s32.dll but it told me that file was loaded but the DllRegistryServer entry point was not found...what does that mean?
thanks
ps _ I also read somewhere else that files SHOULD NOT be copied to the system32 directory.
What do you all reccomend? |

I dont have those files in my system32 folder, and given that I have a network copy of GoldMine PE and several test systems installed on my machine, its probably fair to say GoldMine doesnt copy those files to system32 by default!
GoldMine does however copy those files to c:\program files\goldmine the first time that you run GoldMine PE directly across the network from a shortcut to gmw.exe on the GoldMine server. |

No GoldMine does not copy the files to the System32 folder. Many users will copy the GM7S32.dll and its partner dll to the System32 folder so that the Add-Ons will function, but at most GoldMine will copy the exe's/dll's locally to the C:\Program Files\GoldMine folder. |

I agree with DJ's answer. If you copy the DLLs to system32 folder then you will increase your problems when updating GM. |
