Help. I know I must be doing something wrong here.

I've installed GoldBox 7 to work with GoldMine 7. I have created a Virtual Org Chart and then selected to post to GoldMine. However, the Org Charts are not displaying in GoldMine.

I've tried selecting 'Build Org Chart, Exit' etc. in Post/Run. My SQL Statement reads:

Select Company, City, Contact from Contact1 where Company > ''

I want to break the org chart on:
Company, then City, then Contact. I have entered the slots as suggested in HELP.

Does anyone have any ideas? Apologies in advance if I have failed to include all the info you may require. Please ask if there's more info needed.

Many thanks,

Shnib

You do need that Post/Run setting. You also need the POST Charts to GoldMine box checked. You also need the Accountno in your query (but not in any of the field slots shown on screen). That's all I can think of at the moment.

However, you don't mention using the field slots shown on screen for Company, City and Contact; you do need to do that.

They are all entered as per instructions in the help file:

Gview4th->Company
Gview4th->City
Gview4th->Contact

I have followed your other instructions and I still can't see the Org charts against the contact records.

Also, I can't see a way of running it within GoldBox (I'm using the command lines)

There is no way to run this particular thing from within GoldBox. The most popular way to run this Setup is to use the clipboard button on the Setup screen to generate a launch string (copy the first one shown to the clipboard).

Then create a Taskbar button to run it, using that launch string as the Command Line value. The rest of the setup for that button would be whatever caption you want; and selecting the V4GX7.EXE as the Application (that will auto-fill the Start Directory). Once you have that set up, press it and you should be on your way.

It still doesn't seem to build the org charts. It goes through the motions, telling me it's removing and appending but I just don't see anything at all.

Any more ideas?

Not from me. Let me ask you to post two pieces of info: what is your version of SQL, and also please produce, copy to clipboard and paste the LifeRing for your Setup. I'm going to try to get Dave Petonic to take a look....

In your query, you are missing a comma after Accountno
