Yep, I didn't catch the fact that you were trying to deal with the Label, not the field. Only in the Label is the ''+ required; that tells GoldBox that the label is going to be supplied by an expression, rather than just a literal phrase. The two single quotes and the plus are special GoldBox syntax, just for View Label fields. (Well, actually, it's used other places, too, but it always means the same thing: "this field is expecting a literal, but make it accept an expression with a Character value").
And you are correct, the ASC or DEC for the ORDER BY statement will determine how the designated field is ordered. Thanks for the feedback! |

Users are enjoying their new org charts (THANK YOU!), but a couple issues have come up.
First, it would appear in Goldmine that you can click and drag a member of a chart and move it elsewhere in the chart. There is even a pop-up that appears to confirm your desire to do so. Upon clicking yes, the member is not moved. Specifically, users want the option to move a member up or down in the chart as needed. It looks like you should be able to...but the org chart is not recognizing the move.
Second, when a user deletes a member of the org chart, the entire org chart gets deleted. Could I have missed a setting during creation that might affect this? |

I don't have the answers to these questions, and I'd like for you to call Dave Petonic and discuss them with him. I don't know if he can satisfy you on these issues or not; but that would be the place to start. |
