I try not to use the mouse when using GoldMine and found a neat use of the Lookup tables on the Address fields...
In the lookup tables for the fields, Address, Address2 and Address3, I enter the following values:
"P.O. Box %" and "Suite %"
That's a space and percent sign following the text entries). The percent sign causes the lookup value to be placed in front of any value that is already entered into those fields when the lookup value is selected.
So when I need to enter, say "P.O. Box 2354", I enter "2354", press F2 key to pull up lookup table, press "P" to move to "P.O. Box %" entry in lookup table and press Enter to select to insert "P.O. Box " in front of suite number resulting in the value "P.O. Box 2354" in the Address field.
This is much simpler than it sounds as the key strokes are: (after cursor enters the Address field):
2354
F2 key
P
enter key
When I do it it's much easier than typing out "P.O. Box" every time I need to enter one. (The example for entering a "Suite" is similar.
Give it a try and see if it helps you. |
