I have one user who is getting a Goldmine application hang error that references ieframe.dll. This is an Internet Explorer file and we all know GM uses IE in the background for e-mail. All of these errors occur while reading or deleting e-mail.

In every case, the app hangs and they have to restart it and log back on. Often multiple times during a day.

Any thoughts about solving an issue like this? Goldmine 9.2.1.72 IE 8

I think that you should consider upgrading them to IE9 or IE10. The dll may be bad, and the upgrade may fix it.

PC is Windows XP so can't go to IE 9 or 10. But I could uninstall IE and reinstall it and see if that fixes it. Or copy the dll from another PC. Thanks, DJ!

you might also run a spyware scan as it could be some sort of nasty-ware embedded in their IE. Does the same user experience the same problem on a different machine?

I have done the malwarebytes scan and it did find some spyware. I have run two more scans since then and it is clean.

Will have to ask him about using a different PC. Thanks!

I like ComboFix as a malware scanner these days. Malwarebytes and Spybot are both still good, but CF seems pretty tasty.
