I've read through the threads regarding GMPE 9 and Office, where .dotx files are left on a person's computer after printing a template withing GoldMine and/or doing a Merge/Edit.
We've made a business process decision on how to handle that part, because the recent release has a few bugs that would hurt us in a different way.
Lately, when printing a template, we have been getting an error message that pops up, intermittently...looks like this:
GoldMine Plus for Microsoft Office
The file:
"<filepath>\c34324d25809.dot" could not be opened
From here, most times, everything freezes and we have to use Task Manager to end the processes and try again.
Yesterday I was working with it again and navigated to the location where the .dot files are placed and clicked on template directly...and it opened just fine, so it's not a permissions issue. But when GoldMine Plus does it's little "local copy" and then tries to open it, it can't always do it.
Any help, advice, or insight from here would be greatly appreciated.
We are running:
- GMPE 9.0.2.36
- Windows 7 Enterprise (32-bit)
- Microsoft Office 2010 (32-bit)
Thanks!

I know what FrontRange would say. There have been 4 official releases, and half a dozen or so hot fixes since they released the version you're running. You may be stuck with taking the good with the bad. |

Paul is correct in that FrontRange has made corrections for Office 2013 in their 2013.1.0.x releases. The latest release is 2013.1.1.276 and works nicely with both Office 365 & Office 2013.
If you want the latest fixes you must stay current. |

I agree with both Paul and DJ. The latest release works well with Office 2013 32-bit |

I may be wrong on this, but I thought in this release that it was also supposed to work with office 64 bit as well. |

The Release Notes and Compatibility Matrix that were included with Hotfix3 (The latest release which is 2013.1.0.276) indicate that it supports 32-bit but does not support 64-bit versions of Microsoft Office. |
