When a user selects Tools->Automated Process->Execute Process, the default option offered is to scan a group, and the default group to scan is' all contact records'. Can we configure GM so that the default offered in this dialog window is to scan current contact? We are seeking to prevent cases where a person running an AP inadvertently touches the entire database.
I have looked in documents showing available GM.INI and user.ini settings and haven't seen any option for this. Does anyone know if one exists and can be applied? |

What version GM?
Have you checked the many pages of information in the GM_Admin_Guide and the GM_Users_Guide? |

Version is 9.02.36. And yes, I have looked at the Admin Install and User Guides, also DJ's Hacker's Guide. I haven't found any mention of a way to change the defaults as they are displayed in the dialog.
On a related topic, does anyone know of a way to set a throttle on APs so if someone starts running one with no filter the AP can automatically be stopped after touching a specified number of records? |

I also looked at a couple of sources that list possible entries for the gm.ini and user.ini . Again, I have not found any entries that could be used to change the default. I am hoping there is a hack out there that someone knows of or has discovered. |

That is all hardcoded, and you must live within the constraints of the AP Builder. |

Thanks DJ. As usual you have the authoritative say on this. It's not great, but it is what it is. |
